Profile ~ Diane L. Wright, Connecticut - 1994

Diane has, during her 15 year career, coached at the University of Connecticut, amassing a coaching record of 212-61-27.  She has also served as assistant to the USFHA National Team Coach from 1976-1982.  For six years, she has served on the NCAA Field Hockey Committee.

Her teams won the NCAA field hockey championships in 1981 and 1985 and were runners-up in 1982 and 1983.  Her 1984 team placed third, qualifying for the Final Four.  During the 12 year period, from 1977 through 1988, her teams were selected to post-season play.

In 1983 Diane was the recipient of the USFHA “coach of the Year” award.  She received an award from the University of Connecticut during its “100 years of Women” Celebration.  In 1991, she received the Outstanding Contribution Award from the University of Connecticut Alumni Association.
