Profile ~ Gail H. Davis, Rhode Island - 1997

 

Gail Davis, the Assistant Athletic Director and the women’s gymnastics coach at Rhode Island College, has been involved in WomenSport at both the high school and college levels.  Prior to her tenure at Rhode Island, she taught and coached in Philadelphia.  She has also had extensive experience as a gymnastics official.  Gail holds an International Gymnastics Judge License and has officiated in Bermuda, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Great Britain, and Romania.

Her affiliations include the United States Gymnastics Board of Directors, where she sits as the Chair of the Ethics Committee, the National Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches Association where she is a member of the Executive Board, the Rhode Island Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women where she serves at treasurer, and the Rhode Island Association of Women in Education.  She is a former member of the ECAD, AIAW, and the NCAA Gymnastics Committee.

No records are available for her teams, but they have competed in ECAC, NCAA, and AIAW competitions.

Her coaching expertise has been recognized many times.  She was designated as the Gymnastics Administrator of the Year in 1995 and was recognized by USA Gymnastics in 1996.
