Christine Stanton

Louise is the administrator of the New England Synchronized Swimming Association.

Her involvement in WomanSport has included being a teacher and coach of synchronized swimming and a Level IV coach and judge of synchronized swimming.

She has coached medal winners in Association, sectional, regional competitions and in the Bay State Games.  At the Master Level, she has coached and won 22 solo and 12 national championships; 13 solo YMCA National Championships; and 5 World solo and 2 World duet titles.  As a Level IV Judge, she has participated in Pan Pacific solo and duet, Eurosynch solo, duet, and trio competitions.

Louise is a member of the Boston Organizing Committee.

Many recognitions have been presented to Louise:  1972, honorary membership in the Woman’s National Aquatic Forum (not the National Forum for the Advancement of Aquatics); 1980, she received the Louise Karkut Memorial Scholarship (R & R Academics); 1981, recipient of the Mae McEwan Award as the Master Athlete of the Year; 1983, recipient of the Olympia Award from the Southland Corporation for contribution to an Olympic Sport; 1988, recognized by the Bay State Games as the Regional Volunteer of the Year; 1989, the Ruth Garland Memorial Award from the Bay State Games; and 1989, the Sargent College Alumnae Association Special Recognition Award.

Louise and her husband continue to compete in the 80 and over synchronized swim competitions.
