Profile ~ Nancy Grace, Connecticut - November, 1995

 

Nancy has been varsity field hockey coach for nine years and varsity softball coach for four years at Canton High School.

Her league affiliations include the NCCC League and the Class S League.  She served as the CIAC Tournament Co-Director for Field Hockey and as a consultant to the CIAC Field Hockey Committee.

Nancy posts a nine year field hockey career record of 143-12-10, and a four year softball record of 69-11.  Her 1985 field hockey team was state co-champions;1986 league champions and state champions; 1987 league champions and state runners-up; 1988 state semi-finalists; 1989 state semi-finalists; 1990 league champions and state semi-finalists; 1991 league champions and state champions; 1992and 1993 league champions and state quarter-finalists.  In 1993 her team was league champion and state semi-finalist in softball.

Her coaching expertise has been recognized by the Connecticut High School Field Hockey Association (Coach of the Year, Class S, in 1987, 1990, and 1992).  She was named the C.F. Kelley Coach of the Year by Canton High School in 1990 and 1992.  In 1993 the Connecticut Sportswriters’ Alliance named her the Field Hockey Coach of the Year.
