Profile ~ Patricia Shea, Massachusetts - Jan, 1995

 

Patricia has been a physical education teacher and coach in the Duxbury Public Schools since 1973 – a 21 year career.  She has coached soccer (1978 – present), basketball (1973 – present / varsity coach 1990 – present), and softball (1974 – 1990).

Her league affiliation has included the South Shore League from 1973-1990, and the Atlantic Coast League from 1990 to the present.  For ten years she served as the soccer league representative.  She has been a member of the MA Basketball Coaches Association, the Eastern MA Girls Soccer Coaches Association, and the National Soccer Coaches Association.
Her career record includes: Soccer 260-36-19 for a 17 year career; softball 173-103 for a 17 year career, and basketball 36-39 for a 4 year career.

Her soccer teams have won 10 league championships, 4 South Sectional Championships, 2 Eastern Massachusetts Championships, and 2 State Championships.  They have made 17 tourney appearances.  Her softball teams have made 7 tourney appearances and won 1 league championship.  Her basketball teams have made 1 tourney appearance.

She was named the Boston Globe Coach of the Year in 1983 and again in 1993, the Eastern MA Soccer Coach of the Year in 1983, and was named the coach for the Eastern MA Soccer All-Star Game in 1992 and 1993.
