Girls and Women in Sport Day began as a national celebration in 1987.  The New Agenda- Northeast brought that celebration to Massachusetts in 1989 by inviting every high school in the state to send 2 female athletes and a coach to the State House for a morning of celebration.  Included in this box are the programs, speaker profiles, listing of school and participants, and other information for the celebration.

A short-lived but dynamic program, A Salute to Boston Women in Sport, involved female athletes, officials, coaches, and advocates from all schools and organizations within the City of Boston.  From 1993 through 1999, this program provided opportunities for girls within Boston to meet and hear the prominent women involved in sport and athletics.  Included in this box are the programs, listings, and awards presented at the Salute presentations.
