Pat Richardson, Massachusetts – 1990

Pat is the Assistant to the Executive Director of the Athletic Association (MIAA).  Prior to her affiliation with the MIAA, Pat taught physical education and coached for twenty years at the high school level.  In 1973 she was appointed the first female athletic director in Massachusetts at Assabet Valley Regional High School.  While in this position, she initiated both boys and girls interscholastic and intramural programs.  As a result of her efforts, the Colonial Athletic League was established.  Her program at Assabet eventually grew to include twenty-eight interscholastic teams for boys and girls.  She has served as the vice president to Girls’ and Women’s Athletics for the Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.  Pat holds memberships in many local and national professional associations.
