Alison Risch, New Hampshire – 1999

Alison is currently the assistant director of the King Pine Ski School in Madison, NH.  In 1964 she was certified by the Professional Ski Instructor’s Association and she has been a ski instructor and director since 1963.

Her coaching career began in 1959 at the Cambridge School of Weston where she coached field hockey.  She has also coached field hockey at Germantown Friends School in Pennsylvania and at Kennell High School in Conway, New Hampshire until 1989.  She has also coached lacrosse at Beaver Country Day School from 1960-1970.  She has held an international lacrosse rating since 1960.  As a district official she is currently officiating both high school and college matches.  Since 1959, Alison has held a national rating in field hockey, officiating both high school and collegiate games.  She is currently a section V official.

Allison is affiliated with the Boston Women’s Lacrosse Association, serving as president in the 1960’s.  she is a member of the New Hampshire field Hockey Umpire’s Association , which she served as president at various times from the 1970’s- 1999 and is currently assigner for that organization.  She was the founder of the New Hampshire Women’s Lacrosse Umpires Association and served as its president at various times from the 1970’s to 1999.  She has been a member of the MCFHUA since the 1980’s and is a member of the New England Chapter of the Women’s Lacrosse Association.

Alison was coaching during the pre-Title IX ear and therefore no records are available.  She does, however feel that her teams were “pretty successful.”  For several years her teams made the MAIAA state tournament.  She is still officiating and currently holds ratings from and officiates with the United States Women’s Lacrosse Association (she was their first international umpire) and with the United States Field Hockey.

Alison is a member of the United States Field Hockey Association Hall of Fame and the Winchester High School Women’s Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
