Carole M. Burke, Massachusetts – 2001
Carole is a member of the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials (PALO). She has officiated at elite level play for both girls and boys in Massachusetts and at the national level.
“However, it is the leadership positions I have held that I am most proud of. I have had opportunities that have allowed me to serve my peers in the officiating world {and to} be a part of the development of the sport, from the grass roots to the national level, and to pass on the important lessons that were taught to me by my mentors.”
Her affiliations include: The Boston Board of Officials, the South Suburban Board, the New England Volleyball Officials, and the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials from which she holds a national rating. She is also a member of the Big Ten Officiating Staff. Carole is a past-member of the Officials for Women Collegiate Athletics.
Carole’s involvement in tournament play is extensive and includes: NCAA Division III Final Four (2 years); National Invitational Volleyball Championships (2 years); National Junior College Championships, Division III; Ivy League Championships (3 years); Northeast 10 Championships (4 years); Big East Championships (2 years); New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference; the MIAA high school championships for girls and boys; and she is a line judge for the NCAA Division I Final Four.
